Ministry Grows From Brokenness by Joshua J. Warren

How many of you know that it is within your brokenness that you discover your strength?

I know it sounds kind of strange to think that but when you are in your valley that is when you are able to discover the methods to used to get to the mountain top. Think about it. If you are at your lowest low, there is no other way to go but up. It may look like there is no hope, no way out and nothing for you to use to climb your way out of your circumstance but that is when God exposes the brightest ideas that are right on the inside of you.

It's easy to give up when things get tough. Things start to go unexpectedly and cause you stress and pain and it makes you just want to throw in the towel. You may question whether you will ever get to the place you want to be or if it's even possible. We all have those moments. Sometimes we might even give into them. But when we remind ourselves that we are here for a purpose and that there is no circumstance or inconvenience that can keep us from fulfilling it, that is when we begin to climb up. When we show up for ourselves whether we are tired or have nothing left to give and looks like the way out is scarier than the mess we're in, that is when God fuels us with the fire that is needed toe destroy every bit of doubt and fear a pushes us right through the very thing that we were so afraid of.

I used to hear my preachers talk like this all the time. It never registered with me because they would say that I had to look like this, talk like that, act like them in order to receive the things that God had in store for me. I would end up killing myself trying to fit into a standard that was never created to me. I had to understand that God created a lane for me and that it is uniquely made for me to travel. It may not look like much to other people, but it's mine and I'm going to take it and run with it. People will deceive you into believing that what is in you is something that is meant to be contained, changed or estranged and that isn't what God intends for you. God intends for you to take all that goodness inside of you, throw it on the pottery wheel, knead it and work it into your masterpiece so that you can share it with the world. Everyone won't always get it. They won't always want it for them. They may look at you, curse you and say that you're dealing with something evil just because they don't understand, but I want to tell you that you are beautiful even in your roughest hour.

Even at your worst, you are worthy of life more abundantly. God gave you life for you to use it. As soon as you took your first breath you became worthy of everything that you dream of having and doing as long as you live a good life, trust in the Creator's plan for you and align yourself with your purpose. It's not going to be easy and it won't always be pretty but it is within that brokenness that you gain the ability to connect with brokenness. That way when you climb out of your valley, you can turn back and help someone else climb out of theirs. You can use those tools to serve as a catalyst for someone else's transformation so that they can avoid the mistakes and pitfalls that you made. That is what it means to have community. That is what it means to have wisdom. Being able to look back on those times of brokenness to help put somebody else back together or keep them from breaking at all. So when you are feeling down in your valley, remember that you are worthy and it is only a temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement.

  1. I can definitely relate to this post. I used to think that because I was going through trials that God couldn’t use me. But He pointed me to His Word where we see countless examples of men and women being used by God in miraculous ways even in seasons of tribulations! Thank you for this beautiful reminder of how good Ana wonderful God is! God bless you.
